Madeleine Wulfahrt (née Pulman-Jones) is a writer and member of The New Yorker’s editorial staff. She has written on film and literature for Penguin Modern Classics, MUBI Notebook, Literary Hub, The Times Literary Supplement, and elsewhere. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in publications such as PN Review, The Adroit Journal, and Still Point. She is the recipient of a Harper-Wood Creative Writing and Travel Award and a University of Warsaw Prize for Literary Translation. Originally from the UK, she spent time living in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Warsaw between 2017 and 2022. Now based in New York, she works as a Fact Checker at The New Yorker, research-editing pieces across the magazine, and bringing her first-hand cultural and linguistic knowledge to coverage of Eastern Europe.
